Emissions decreased in the September quarter 2012, with rend emissions declining by 0.2%. Seasonally adjusted and weather normalised emissions decreased 0.6% on the previous quarter (Figures 1-3). The primary contributor to the decline was emissions from the electricity sector, which decreased as a result of decreasing electricity demand and changes in the generation fuel mix (section 2.1). This reduction in emissions was offset by increases in trend emissions from the fugitive emissions (section 2.4) and stationary energy excluding electricity (section 2.2) sectors.
